ROCHESTER (AP) -- Funeral services are being held next week for one of the two young Rochester girls who were fatally shot by their father while camping in the Adirondacks.
Authorities in Warren County say 29-year-old Adam Parcells of Hilton turned the gun on himself after killing 3-year-old Mia Parcells and 10-year-old Noel Parcells inside their tent at a campground outside the village of Lake George. Officials believe the shootings occurred Monday. Their bodies were discovered the next day.
The girls had different mothers, and Mia's other was separating from him after filing for divorce in May.
Noel's funeral is being held Monday morning at a Rochester church. Arrangements for Mia's funeral haven't been announced.
The girls' mothers had contacted Rochester police and Monroe County sheriff's deputies to report their children hadn't been brought back home by Parcells.
