A packed house in the Crouse-Hinds Theatre Friday night watches some of broadways most talented actors perform the Lion King.
"I love musicals and I've always wanted to see the show. I'm so excited to see it," said Michaele Lunden.
"I'm a huge Elton John fan, huge disney fan. I'm just hoping this is breathtaking," said Debbie Hanlon.
Critics claim it's Disney's landmark musical. It's been on broadway for more than a decade and has a multi-million dollar impact on the communities it visits. As the Lion King roars into Central New York, it's a broadway-sized boost for area restaurants.
Restaurants like Phoebe's is offering a special deal for diners, 10 percent off your check when you show your ticket. Phoebe's says reservations are booked, and it even brings in extra staff to serve the show crowds. Bittersweet, a new wine and dessert bar, is also offering a discount for people who stop by after the show.
Tickets are still on sale for the Lion King, it runs through October 2nd.
