ROCHESTER -- Blaming the higher cost of food and increased labor costs, the Wegmans supermarket chain has increased the price of some of very popular prepared meals.
Wegmans rolled out Six Dollar Meals in its prepared foods section in 2009 and the concept proved to be very successful. Now the chain has raised the price on some of the meals to eight dollars.
The company told the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle newspaper in Rochester it has also added a side of pasta to some of the new higher priced meals.
