LOGAN, UT -- It's the fiery crash that's making headlines from coast to coast. A Utah man is alive today thanks to the heroic efforts of a group of bystanders. The dramatic rescue was caught on tape.
In the video, you can see a group of people pulling a man out from beneath the wreckage of a burning car.
When a motorcycle and car collided, they quickly erupted in flames. It was a fireball by the time the first bystander ran over to see if anyone was trapped.
Soon, others rushed over and spotted the motorcyclist pinned underneath the burning car. "We saw the body, we had, we had to help him," one bystander said.
Unable to get to the victim, a construction worker tried to move the car. Within seconds, he was joined by several more. Together, they tried again, but the car wouldn't budge.
More people rushed in to help, and together they were able to lift the roughly 4,000 lb. car. The man underneath, 21-year-old Brandon Wright, was alive and miraculously survived. He suffered several broken bones, but is expected to recover.
Police are now crediting the bystanders, calling them heroes. They were strangers who risked their own lives to save another.
