AUBURN, CAYUGA COUNTY -- The man prosecutors have pointed to as the, "person of interest," in the Katie Socci killing has plead guilty to unrelated drug charges.

David McNamara was in Cayuga County Court Tuesday morning.  Prosecutors say he entered guilty pleas on two counts. McNamara admitted falsifying a prescription at a pharmacy to get his hands on hydrocodone.  He also plead guilty to criminal sale of a controlled substance.

McNamara is scheduled to be sentenced on October 25th and is facing 5 years in jail with 2 years post-release supervision.

Prosecutors would not comment on the ongoing investigation into the death of Katie Socci. In June her body was found near a nature trail in Auburn.  Investigators have referred to her ex-boyfriend McNamara as the only person of interest in the case.  No formal charges have been filed against McNamara in connection to that crime.
