GRANBY, OSWEGO COUNTY -- A father riding in a vehicle with his son is dead after the truck crashed into a tree in Oswego County.
It happened Thursday night around 9:30 at Rathburn Road and Senior Avenue in the Town of Granby.
John Pendall, Jr., 25, was driving the 1996 GMC truck northbound on Rathburn Road when he tried to make a turn, according to a press release from Oswego County Sheriffs Deputies. That's when he crashed into a tree.
Pendall, Jr. was transported to Upstate University Hospital and is in serious condition.
His father, John Pendall, Sr., 46, was a passenger in the truck and was killed, according to deputies.
A State Police helicopter and a Mercy Flight helicopter assisted at the scene.
The investigation into the crash continues.
