Groups of all kinds that need volunteers will be at next Tuesday's Volunteer Fair
Fifty community non-profits that could use volunteer help will be at a volunteer fair next Tuesday.
Assemlyman Bill Magnarelli (D-Syracuse) is organizing the event for the second year, to help match up people who want to volunteer with organizations or all kinds that need both ongoing volunteers, and help with seasonal or one-time events.
Magnarelli says the fair is also a good way for high school students, who have to do community service as a graduation requirement, to see what's available. It's also a way for unemployed, or job hunters, to get a taste of different career areas.
The Volunteer Fair is at Carousel Center Skydeck on Tuesday (September 20) 3-7pm. It's open to all, and free.
