Van hits horse, passenger killed

No charges yet, as investigation continues

MEXICO, OSWEGO CO. -- A horse standing on Route 104 in Mexico is blamed for a fatal crash.

Oswego County Deputies say that about 8:00 p.m. Saturday night, a Dodge Caravan hit the horse, just west of County Route 58A in Mexico. The van's passenger, 65-year-old Barbara Carrio from Theresa, died from injuries in the crash.

66-year-old Keith Carrio, who was driving, was brought to Upstate University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver and passenger were husband and wife.

The horse was also killed. 

No charges so far, but the collision remains under investigation.
