It was yet another game that the SU football team may have lost a few years ago, instead they overcame mistakes, and came through with a 33-30 overtime victory over Toledo.

SU found themselves down 10-0 in the early stages of the game, but some timely field goals from Sophomore Ross Krautman, and a very timely interception from Kevyn Scott would eventually allow the Orange to improve to 3-1 on the season. Scott intercepted the football on the very first play of overtime, leading to Ross Krautman's 27 yard game winning field goal on SU's overtime opportunity on offense. Krautman was a perfect 4-of-4 on field goals, including that game-winner.

"I just told (the players) coming out of the locker room that I'm glad we're up for the challenge," said SU Head Coach Doug Marrone, "because we needed to play hard to win this game, and if we would have let a little bit down, we would have been in trouble."

"(When you fight through a game like that for four quarters," reflected Kevyn Scott," we have injuries, we have guys coming out, second string guys having to step up, it just shows a lot. It shows a lot about the future of this team, and it shows a lot about the current state of this team."

Ryan Nassib was 16 of 24 passing for 213 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Antwon Bailey rushed for 114 yards and a career high 28 carries.

Here's more on the game from the Associated Press.

Syracuse cornerback Kevyn Scott made an interception in the end zone on the first play of overtime, Ross Krautman kicked four field goals, including the 27-yard winner, and the Orange held off Toledo 33-30 on Saturday.

It was the third straight loss to a BCS team for Toledo (1-3) and the third straight home win for Syracuse (3-1). The Orange won their second OT game this season.

Syracuse gained a 30-27 lead on Ryan Nassib's 18-yard lob to Alec Lemon at the back of the end zone. Officials reviewed the extra point by Krautman, which appeared on a replay to be wide but was allowed to stand.

Ryan Casano's 20-yard field goal on the final play of regulation sent the game into the extra period.

The Rockets were burned when they gambled on first down and Scott wrestled quarterback Austin Dantin's pass away from the intended receiver in the right corner of the end zone.
