SU student robbed in latest attack in university neighborhood

SYRACUSE -- A Syracuse University student is the latest victim in a string a violent burglaries on the city's eastside.

SU's Department of Public Safety said a student was attacked walking on the 700 block of Maryland Avenue Tuesday night around 8:40. The student told officers he was attacked by two men, who then took off with personal belongings.

The first suspect is described as a black man, in his late teens or early 20's, about 5'9''-5'10'' with a medium build, last seen wearing dark colored pants and a dark hooded sweatshirt. The second suspect is described as a black male, approximately the same height and build, also wearing dark pants and a dark hooded sweatshirt.

Tuesday night, Syracuse Police announced they were investigating ten violent robberies in the East Campus Neighborhood area and surrounding areas. All but one of those attacks involved a gun or knife.
