Construction to impact this week's commute

The New York Department of Transportation has issued a travel advisory for the week of October 3 to October 7.

There are a number of short term repairs in the Syracuse area of Onondaga County, according to the New York Department of Transportation: 

--Monday, October 3, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. I-81 Southbound Off-ramp to I-690 Eastbound closed to all traffic. Detour: Exit 19 (Clinton Street), straight on Clinton Street to Erie Boulevard, right on Erie Boulevard to I-690 Eastbound ramp.

--Monday, October 3 and Tuesday, October 4, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. I-690 Eastbound: Reduced to one lane, from West Street to I-81 Southbound ramp.

--Monday, October 3, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. I-690 Westbound: Left lane closed between Geddes Street and Hiawatha Blvd.

--Monday, October 3 to Wednesday, October 5, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. I-81/I-481 interchange in North Syracuse: various shoulder closures.

--Monday, October 3, through Thursday, October 6, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. I-81 Southbound: Ramp to Hiawatha Blvd: lane restrictions on ramp.

--Tuesday, October 4, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. I-690 Eastbound: Right lane closed from Crouse Avenue to Teall Avenue.

--Wednesday, October 5 and Thursday, October 6, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. I-690 Eastbound: Right lane closed from John Glenn Blvd to State Fair Blvd.

--Thursday, October 6, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. I-81 Southbound: Left lane closed from Bear Street to Spencer Street.

--Friday, October 7, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. I-81 Southbound: Ramp to Hiawatha Blvd closed. Detour: Continue on I-81 to exit for Spencer Street.  Right turn onto Spencer Street, then right turn onto Solar Street back to Hiawatha Blvd.

There are a number of long term repairs in the Syracuse area, according to the New York Department of Transportation: 

--Intersection of Thompson Road (NY 635) at Erie Boulevard (NY 5). Night Work: 6 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights now through approximately October 7. The roads involved in this intersection will be reduced to one lane in each direction during the over night hours shown. Access to driveways will be maintained. All lanes will be open Fridays after 7 a.m. to Sunday evenings at 6 p.m.

The New York Department of Transportation also lists long term projects in Oswego County:

--I-81 Northbound Mainline: Right lane closed full time, center lane closed Monday through Thursday, 7:00  a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. approaching and crossing under the Bartell Road Bridge at Exit 31 (Brewerton) and over the Barge Canal/Oneida Lake Outlet Bridge in Brewerton. Access to and from Exit 31 (Bartell Road-Brewerton) will be maintained.

The New York Department of Transportation also lists long term projects in Tompkins County:

--NY Route 34  Northbound and Southbound: Closed to all traffic  at the tributary of Salmon Creek which is one tenth of a mile south of Bower Road in the Town of Lansing. Continuous through  approximately Monday, November 7. Detour Information:  All traffic will be detoured during construction on one of two routes: Route 34B to 90 to 34 for regular traffic, and Route 13 to 281 to Interstate 81 to 20 to 34 for over-width, over- height and “R” permitted vehicles.
