BINGHAMTON (AP) -- The driver of an SUV that plunged into the Chenango River near Binghamton has been indicted on manslaughter charges for the deaths of her three passengers.
The Binghamton Press and Sun-Bulletin reports that 23-year-old Jaclyn Wesley of Binghamton is facing three felony counts of first-degree vehicular manslaughter and seven misdemeanors including driving while intoxicated and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Police said Wesley and her passengers were driving from a local bar at about midnight May 20 when the Ford Explorer she was driving hit a guard rail in Fenton, went airborne and hit the riverbank before landing in the water.
Prosecutors didn't return calls Monday seeking more details or if she has a lawyer.
She was indicted by a Broome County grand jury last week.
