CARTHAGE, JEFFERSON COUNTY -- A Carthage man has been charged after an investigation into $2,500 missing from a McDonald’s store cash register.

Police say that Andrew S. LaFave, 29, was charged with falsifying business records and petit larceny.

An investigation into a McDonald's Restaurant employee stealing approximately $2,500 from a cash register led to the arrest of LaFave.

Investigators say that, “the conclusion of an internal investigation determined that sometime between September 3rd and September 17th, 2011, LaFave did falsify business records in order to avoid discovery of larceny of petit cash from the cash register.”

LaFave is expected to appear before the Village of West Carthage Court on October 11.
