Alpaca Expo coming to State Fairgrounds

500 animals, plus alpaca products

500 Alpacas will be competing, and on exhibit, at the State Fairgrounds next weekend (Oct 22 & 23)

Alpacas will be taking over the State Fairgrounds next weekend, for the Empire Alpaca Extravaganza. Sarah Lamanna, from
Claddagh Farms in LaFayette, gave us a preview this weekend, bringing two of her yearling alpaca. Both of them hummed through our morning interview, which Sarah says is a sign of nevousness, though the two 'boys' seemed very well behaved.

Besides 500 animals, the show will feature alpaca clothing, yarn and fiber arts, as well as demonstrations. All are free to the public, Saturday 9 - 5 and Sunday 9 - 2 at the Toyota arena at the fairgrounds. www.nyalpacas.com has more details.
