First-ever area marathon attracts 2,000
The first-ever Empire State Marathon has brought in 2,000 runners, and if you're where they are running, be aware of some traffic changes:
The course is from Alliance Bank Stadium, up the Onondaga Lake Parkway to Liverpool, then up River Road to Belgium Road and Baldwinsville....and back to Liverpool along 370 and the Parkway to the stadium's finish.
Onondaga Lake Parkway is closed to all vehicular traffic til 3:30 this afternoon, with the other roads restricted.
