Vera House, the shelter and outreach program aimed at helping victims of domestic violence, has a month of activities planned aimed at educating, not just dealing with the consequences of partner abuse.
Loren Cunningham, Education Coordinator for Vera House, says some of the events are workshops, others (like 'your role in promoting healthy relationships in the African-American community' on Saturday October 22) are talks that are free.
Vera House also does it's annual report to the community on domestic and sexual violence.  This year's, the 22nd, will be at Syracuse's Oncenter on Wednesday, October 26th at 12:15pm.  It's open to the public and free.
