SYRACUSE -- It's been years in the making, and tomorrow Syracuse city leaders will celebrate the completion of the Creekwalk project.

A grand opening ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Creekwalk spans from West Jefferson Street in Armory Square to Onondaga Lake. It's a 2.6 mile trail that city officials hope will attract more people to the area.

Members of the F.O.C.U.S. CNY Pathways and members of the Pedals to Possibilities organization will ride their bicycles from Armory Square to Onondaga Lake to mark the opening of the Creekwalk.

This project has been in the works for many years. Construction eventually began at the end of 2009 with the hope of creating opportunities for all types of recreational activity along the trail.

Will you use the Creekwalk? Do you think it will help connect other parts of the city to downtown? What impact do you think the project will have on the region? Leave your thoughts below.
