FULTON, OSWEGO CO. -- A Fulton woman is accused of committing welfare fraud. 

According to Oswego County Sheriff’s Department, Amy J. Smith, 32, was arrested for welfare fraud and grand larceny Tuesday morning.

Deputies say Smith’s arrest stemmed from an investigation into her alleged obtainment of assistance benefits and food stamps without notifying the Department of Social Services of income. 

Smith was arraigned in the Town of Parish Court is expected to return to the Town of Mexico Court in the near future.
