SYRACUSE -- A Liverpool man was sentenced to 11 years for a stabbing attack earlier this year.
Jerry Garrett, 28, was in Onondaga County Court on Wednesday where he was sentenced to 11 years after being charged with assault in the second degree.
Investigators say Garrett stabbed 30-year-old Dranton Harris during an argument on June 11 in front on 505 Catherine Street.
Police say the Garrett and two other suspects jumped Harris and stabbed him several times in the lower legs and hit him in the head with a tire iron. He was taken to the hospital with serious, but non life threatening injuries.
Police say the suspects ran from the apartment, one of them punched 52-year-old Julie Lee in the head. She was knocked down a staircase, then the suspects kicked her several times in the head and back. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police say doctors put Lee into a drug induced comma.
Garrett will also have five and a half years of post-release supervision.
