Veterans Ceremonies, centered around Syracuse's War Memorial, move to the State Fairgrounds this year
The CNY Veterans Parade will be marching in a new venue this year: the State Fairgrounds.
Assemblyman Bill Magnarelli (D-Syracuse), who's been a mentor of the show of support for the past three years in Downtown Syracuse, says the move will open the tribute to more of the community.
The CNY Veterans Parade and Expo will include a showcase for military and veteran related organizations and companies, along with a big kids' section. The parade itself starts at noon, but the Expo will run 11am - 4pm at the Center of Progress building. Over 90 groups are already signed up for the parade, including area military unts and veterans organizations, and lots of bands: the SU Pride of the Orange, and high school bands from B'ville, ESM, Henninger, C-NS and Phoenix, so far.
'Stars', or at least a major attraction at both the parade and the expo, the West Point Drill Team in performance.
Admission to all is free, with free parking.
