ALBION, ORLEANS COUNTY -- A woman in upstate New York is dead after being stabbed in the parking lot of a Walmart store.
Orleans County Sheriff Scott Hess says Kathleen Byham, 45, was leaving the store in Albion at about 7 p.m. Sunday when three men approached her. One of the men stabbed her repeatedly.
Byham was rushed to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Authorities interviewed two suspects Sunday night and are searching for a third in connection with the stabbing.
Authorities say they've charged an illegal immigrant from Honduras, 24-year-old Luis Rodriguez-Flamenco of Honduras, with second-degree murder. He's being held in the county jail without bail. It wasn't known if he had a lawyer.
The Daily News of Batavia reports it's not clear what led to the stabbing, but officials are looking into the possibility of an argument inside the store or a robbery attempt.
