ALBANY (AP) -- A 57-year-old man from upstate New York has been sentenced by a federal judge to three years and seven months in prison for punching a letter carrier in the face.

According to federal prosecutors, Emmanuel Clothakis Jr., of Sherrill, pleaded guilty earlier to assault for hitting the U.S. Postal Service carrier in March in the city of Oneida as he delivered mail to a federal credit union.
