NEW HAVEN, OSWEGO CO. -- A Phoenix woman is facing welfare fraud charges.

40-year-old Cherrie Alexander-Marks, of 354 County Route 57A, is accused of illegally getting Medicaid and Food Stamp benefits from the Oswego County Department of Social Services valued at more than $5,000.

She's charged with grand larceny, welfare fraud and offering a false instrument for filing.

She was arraigned in New Haven Town Court and released on her own recognizance. She's due back in the Town of Mexico Court today.
