CARTHAGE -- A Carthage nurse is accused of stealing drugs from patients.

32-year-old Emilia Tehonica, of 33 Madison Street Village West, is charged with falsify business records and obtain controlled substance by fraud and deceit.

State police say Tehonica was stealing from April 11 though October 26 at at Carthage Area Hospital. They say she falsified the automated dispensing records and medical administration records at the hospital. She was working there as a registered nurse at the time.

Tehonica was issued appearance tickets to appear in Carthage Village Court on November 21.

This is the second arrest of a Carthage nurse for stealing drugs from patients in the last month.

30-year-old Joseph Margrey Jr. was arrested last month on charges he illegally obtained drugs from patients while working as a registered nurse at Carthage Area Hospital.
