It was another slow start for the SU offense, as the Syracuse Orange trailed 20-10 at the Carrier Dome at halftime. SU Junior Alec Lemon caught the only touchdown of the first half, a 10 yard snag from Ryan Nassib with 3:52 remaining in the half. It completed a drive where SU drove 52 yards in five plays.
But the USF Bulls answered back when redshirt junior quarterback B.J. Daniels got the ball to Andre Davis for a 43-yard completion on their first play of their ensuing drive. Daniels took that opportunity to run it in two yards to up the lead to 17-7.
The two teams then exchanged field goals, as the Bulls took a 10 point lead into halftime. Nassib is 8 of 17 passing for 108 yards and one touchdown.
