Evacuees go home, inspector says it's safe
The emergency is over and roads are reopened
Syracuse Police say the emergency is over: Roads, including Route 81 are reopened and people who were evacuated are being let back into their homes, after a train derailment and propane scare south of Syracuse University.
Specialized equipment was brought in to clean up the scene and put the derailed tankers back on the tracks. Inspectors have now declared the area safe.
The cause of Friday afternoon's accident is still under investigation.
