Fort Drum soldier killed in Afghanistan on Veteran's Day

AFGHANISTAN -- A Fort Drum soldier has died following an attack on Veteran's Day in Afghanistan.

The US Military says Theodore B. Rushing, 25, of Longwood, Florida was killed after his unit was attacked by an improvised explosive device Friday.

Rush joined the army in March of 2011 and deployed overseas in August. He earned several awards and decorations.

He is survived by his mother and father.
