CORTLANDVILLE -- A Syracuse woman is accused of using an 11-year-old child to help her rob a Cortlandville Wal-Mart store.
It happened shortly after 5 p.m. at the Wal-Mart at 819 Bennie Road.
Cortland County Sheriff's deputies say 33-year-old Cachet Lodman used an 11-year-old to help her steal merchandise from the store. But it didn't end there. Investigators say after stealing the items, Lodman removed another item from the shelf, and using a receipt from another Wal-Mart store, got a refund for the item, which she hadn't purchased. The total value of the items stolen was $233.49.
Lodman is charged with falsifying business records, petit larceny and endangering the welfare of a child. She was arraigned in Cortlandville Town Court and sent to the Cortland County Jail without bail. She's scheduled to be back in court tomorrow.
