DEWITT -- Syracuse Police and New York State troopers have left after spending nearly 8 hours combing through the home and property of SU assistant coach Bernie Fine.

Detectives were seen hauling away three filing cabinets along with dozens of other items shortly after 8 p.m. Teams of police officers were also searching the woods directly behind and to the side of Fine's home. Other officers were moving furniture off of a patio in the back of the house.

We spoke with a representative from the U.S. Attorney's Office, who said he cannot comment on any investigation. Syracuse Police Sgt. Tom Connellan says the search is due to a U.S. Attorney's search warrant.

Fine is accused of molesting two former ball boys. He has called the claims "patently false." Head coach Jim Boeheim has also defended Fine.

Syracuse Police confirmed on November 17th that the department was looking into allegations against fine. Since then, both Mayor Stephanie Miner and Onondaga County District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick have gotten involved, and have been publicly arguing about police records of the investigation.
