DEWITT -- DeWitt Police have arrested a man who they say was charging senior citizens for work he never did.
Police have arrested 30-year-old Vincent A. Brush of 2 Gregory Parkway in DeWitt on a number of charges, including forgery. Investigators say he was going door to door and asking residents to hire him, promising to conduct yard work and other small tasks around their homes. The homeowners would pay him cash in advance and on one occasion provided him with their credit card and pin number. Five of the victims were repeatedly contacted by the male who obtained even more money from them, claiming they needed further repairs.
Police say Brush never did the work he promised.
Brush is facing Forgery, Scheme to Defraud and Petit Larceny charges. He is currently being held at the Justice Center on $10,000.00 cash or bond.

Police remind residents to be weary of solicitors. Legitimate contractors that are soliciting door to door will have obtained a permit from the town in order to do so.
