The T-shirts say it all! Hundreds take a dip in Oneida Lake
 / Photojournalist Jason Hillis
At least it wasn't snowing sideways, but no question it was cold for the 300+ who 'volunteered' to take the Polar Plunge in Oneida Lake on sunday at high noon.
They started checking in at Oneida Shores several hours earlier, just in time to see Sheriff's Deputies, in wet suits, going into the water to make sure it was 'safe'.
After the dip, participants were treated to hot coffee and food, courtesy Dunkin Donuts and Dinosaur BBQ.
All profits from the event go to the Special Olympics---last year they raised over $70,000 at this event.
