DUNDEE -- State police are investigating a serious farm accident that left a 4-year-old hurt.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. Monday on South Glenora Road in Dundee.

Police say the child was on the back of farm equipment on the family farm when the equipment was struck by another piece of farm equipment. The boy's father was sitting in the second piece of farm equipment when it rolled towards the first one, striking it.

The boy was taken to Schuyler Hospital with a head injury and was later airlifted to Upstate Hospital in Syracuse.

The father says the two pieces of equipment were not running at the time of the accident. The investigation into the accident continues.
