LOWVILLE -- A fire at a Lowville restaurant and motel is under investigation.

The flames broke out around 2:56 a.m. at the Lighthouse Restaurant & Motel at 7392 Utica Boulevard.

Lewis County fire officials say the fire did moderate damage to the upstairs roof area. There was also heavy water damage to the first floor. Investigators say the fire appears to have started upstairs in the gable-end of the building.

Fire crews from Martinsburg, Glenfield and Brantingham assisted in putting out the flames. No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
