CICERO -- Investigators say a Cicero-North Syracuse high school student killed in a crash pulled in front of a drunk driver when she was hit.
17-year-old Taylor Fleming, of 6214 Henryk Woods Road, was seriously injured December 8 and died several days later in the hospital.
45-year-old Timothy Williams, of 426 Pendergast Road in Phoenix, is facing drunk driving charges in the crash.
Onondaga County Sheriff's deputies say Williams was traveling south on Northern Boulevard when Fleming pulled in front of him. They say she Fleming was driving east on Totman Road and tried to cross Northern Boulevard when she pulled in front of Williams.
Deputies say toxicology results show Williams' blood alcohol content was above the legal limit. They say he has been cooperative with the investigation.
Investigators say Williams drove a 12-year-old to his Cicero home right before the crash. Because of that, he is also charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated under Leandra's Law and endangering the welfare of a child.
Williams was arraigned Tuesday night in Cicero Town Court where bail was set at $500 cash or $1,000 bond. He's currently being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center and is scheduled to be back in court on January 5.
This case has been turned over to the Onondaga County District Attorney's Office.
On Thursday afternoon, students plan to gather around the flagpole at the entrance to Cicero-North Syracuse High School. Fleming's classmates plan to launch 100 balloons in her memory.
Fleming's family donated her organs so others will benefit from her life.
