DEWITT -- The Key Bank branch located at 215 Tecumseh Road in the Town of DeWitt was robbed around 9:50 a.m. Wednesday morning.

DeWitt Police say the suspect entered the bank demanding money and displayed what appeared to be a small black handgun.

Police say the suspect received cash from two different bank tellers and pointed the weapon towards a customer before fleeing the bank on foot, north behind Nottingham Plaza into the woods.

Witnesses described the suspect as being a light-skinned black male or white male and approximately 6’2 – 6’3 tall. He has a lean or athletic build and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the words “SYRACUSE ALUMNI” written across the chest area. He was also wearing gray sweatpants, black sneakers, and was carrying a black draw string bag with white writing on the front.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Dewitt Police at 449-3640 during business hours or email TIPS to tips@townofdewitt.com.
