Syracuse Police identify officers in Catherine Street shooting

SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Police have identified the two officers involved in a shooting on Catherine Street in Syracuse.

Police said Mark Shea, 38 and Matthew Liadka, 28 were involved in the December 18th shooting that critically injured a man, who police said, was emotionally disturbed.

Shea joined the Syracuse Police Department in June of 2005 and is currently assigned to the Patrol Divison.

Liadka joined the Syracuse Police Department in February of 2007.and is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.

This is the first time either of the officers has been involved in a shooting incident.

This case is still under investigation.

Police said no further information on this case will be released until after the Onondaga County District Attorney's Office completes its grand jury review.
