JAMESVILLE -- A prayer service will be held tonight at St. Mary's Church in Jamesville after a Vatican decree found the Syracuse diocese had no valid reason to close it.
The Syracuse diocese is holding its position, saying St. Mary's Church will not re-open as a working church.
The diocese says the decree actually upholds the diocese's decision to merge St. Mary's with Holy Cross in DeWitt.
Tonight's service starts at 5:30.
