LIVERPOOL -- If you still haven't made plans for New Year's Eve, you may want to head to Onondaga Lake Park in Liverpool.

Thousands of people are expected to attend the 2nd Annual Americu Credit Union's First Night CNY at Lights on the Lake on Saturday, December 31. This year, First Night CNY will feature live music throughout the evening, including a performance by national recording artists New Boyz.

"When you look around on new years eve, in most cities, there's not a lot to do that you feel as a parent is safe to bring your child to and feel safe," said organizer Pam Levine.  "You don't have to worry about alcohol here, it's an alcohol free event.  It's inexpensive. It's not hard for anyone to get to."

This is a family-friendly event with lots of activities for the kids, including laser tag, inflatables, crafts and glow-in-the dark mini golf. You will be able to walk through Lights on the Lake. At the stroke of midnight, the orange ball drop returns, followed by a fireworks display over Onondaga Lake to ring in 2012.

You cannot bring food or drinks into the event, but it will be available for you to purchase. Tickets are $5 in advance and are available at Wegmans. Tickets will be $8 at the gate. Kids 5 and under are free.

All parking is free and will be at Carousel Center Mall's remote lots on Hiawatha Blvd. across the street from the mall. Free shuttles to the event will start at 4:45pm and will run continuously all night. Onondaga Lake Parkway will be closed during the event and there will be no event parking at Onondaga Lake Park or in the Village of Liverpool.
