Medical condition suspected as cause
A late night Friday crash in Cicero may have also started a roof fireat a Brewerton Rd. business
A Cicero man is dead after his pickup went off Brewerton Road late Friday night, and sheared a utility pole. Downed wires from that pole may have started a roof fire at A&P Auto Parts.
Onondaga Sheriff's Deputies say a passing motorist called them about the crash, about 10:50pm, in the 8500 block of Brewerton Road. 49 year old Donald Nightingale was near his home at 8780 Brewerton Road, when his F-150 pickup drifted off the road and sheared a utility pole. Deputies believe a medical condition caused the crash.
Brewerton Road between Route 31 and Mud Mill Road was closed several hours as investigators were at the crash scene, and fire volunteers worked on a roof fire at the nearby A&P Auto Parts, believed started by downed wires. The road was reopened just before 3am Saturday.
