LOWVILLE (AP) -- A 68-year-old Central New York man is behind bars after being charged with sexually abusing two men with developmental disabilities.

State Police in Lowville say an eight-month investigation led to the arrest of James Villiere of Pennysettlement Road in Port Leyden, 55 miles northeast of Syracuse.

Troopers said Monday that Villiere was charged with felony second-degree criminal sexual act, misdemeanor second-degree sexual abuse and two counts of endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person.

After arraignment in Lowville Village Court, Villiere was sent to Lewis County Jail on $10,000 bail.
