MONTEZUMA (AP) -- A travel plaza along the Thruway in central New York is open again after being shut down for two days because of a Christmas Day grease fire in one of the building's restaurants.
The Thruway Authority says on Tuesday night it reopened the Port Byron Service Plaza on Interstate 90's eastbound side in the town of Montezuma, between Exits 41 and 40. No injuries were reported.
The service area was closed when a grease fire in the McDonald's kitchen Sunday caused extensive smoke damage inside the building.
The restrooms reopened Monday and the gas station remained open.
