NEW HARTFORD, ONEIDA CO. -- An Oneida County man was arrested last week after police say child pornography was found on his personal computer.
According to Whitesboro police, on December 22 New Hartford Police were called to the Best Buy store on Commercial Drive for a report of a laptop computer that was found to contain images of child porn. Police say the computer had been brought in for service, and the images were found on it while work was being done.
Police say the owner of the computer, 58-year-old Herbert K. Koestner of Whitesboro, has been charged with felony possessing a sexual performance by a child. Police say they found numerous depictions of children under the age of 16 engaged in sexual acts on the computer which belongs to Koestner.
Koestner was arraigned in Town of New Hartford Court and released. He is scheduled to appear in court at an unspecified date.
