FULTON -- An Oswego man is accused of stealing a car, driving drunk and leading police on a chase.

Fulton Police say 22-year-old Raymond Gomes stole a car from the Elks Club on State Route 104 in Oswego and drove drunk to Fulton. Police say he didn't have a driver's license at the time.

Around 10:30 p.m. on New Year's Eve, police say they spotted Gomes passing stop signs and cutting off other driers on State Route 3 in Fulton. When they tried to pull him over, police say Gomes didn't stop and lead them on a chase reaching speeds in excess of 50 mph.

Gomes is charged with driving while intoxicated, criminal possession of stolen property, driving with .10 percent BAC and numerous traffic violations. He was arraigned and sent to the Oswego County Public Safety Center on $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
