SYRACUSE -- The SPCA is looking for your help to solve a disturbing case.

Animal cruelty investigators are still trying to gather enough evidence to catch a driver who dragged a dog down Interstate 81 in Syracuse. Now they're offering a reward of $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Investigators say a driver spotted a female pit bull dragged by a chain behind a pick up truck last month. The motorist sped up and signaled to the driver, but he sped up and pulled away. The chain snapped near the Franklin Street exit and the dog rolled into and then under the steel guard rail.

The dog was so badly injured she had to be euthanized.

If you have any information, call the SPCA at 454-3469.
