MANLIUS --
Students in the Fayetteville-Manlius School District have big plans to help a local charity, but they need your help to do it.
F-M High School students hope to secure $130,000 for the school's Dance Marathon which benefits Camp Good Days and Special Times. They raised more than $127,000 last year.
More than 1,100 students are expected to participate in the event which will be held on March 3. It includes 12 hours of dancing, bands and contests.
Hundreds of students will gather Thursday afternoon to kickoff their fundraising effort. F-M students and Camp Good Days representatives and campers will talk about the impact the fundraiser has on the children who attend Camp Good Days and Special Times.
The public is invited to attend an assembly in the high school auditorium on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
Camp Good Days is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, adults, and families whose lives have been touched by cancer and other life challenges. It offers summer camping experiences and year-round events and activities.
The money raised by the fundraiser is used to fund Camp Good Days & Special Times improvements and ensures that every child goes to camp for free.
F-M students have raised more than $1 million total for the camp in the more than 20 years it has been holding the Dance Marathon fundraiser.
