Chittenango man sentenced to 6 years for vehicular manslaughter

WAMPSVILLE, MADISON CO. -- A Madison County man was sentenced to six years in prison, license revocation, and to pay $375 in surcharges and fees after pleading guilty to killing a woman with his car while driving distracted.

Police say Jason Forshee operated a motor vehicle while impaired by the use of drugs and was accused of looking down at his cell phone on November 20, 2010 in the Town of Sullivan.

Police say his distracted driving resulted in the death of 57-year-old Lynn Eggert of Chittenango who was walking her dog with her husband on Route 5.

The incident occurred on November 20, 2010 in the Town of Sullivan.
