SYRACUSE -- The newly revamped Citizen Review Board had a successful first meeting on Thursday night.

Seven out of the eight members attended the meeting. At the top of the agenda was electing a chair of the board, along with the development of a search committee.

The board elected Crystal Collette to be the new chair, she will essentially be the leader of the board during meetings. Collette will be the board chair for one year.

The board also started to develop a search committee that will be tasked with finding in a new administrator. The administrator position is a full time paid position, the person who fills this spot will be responsible for running the CRB office and they will accept any grievances filled against the Syracuse police department.

Other items on the agenda at the meeting included discussing the CRB website, which the city will provide.

The CRB will continue to meet every first and third Thursday of each month, and all meetings will be open to the public.
