SYRACUSE -- The Level 3 sex offender accused of loitering near a school was sentenced Monday for kicking a police officer during his arrest.

55-year-old Terry Jandrew, of Syracuse, will spend one year in the Onondaga County Jail for assault.

Investigators say Jandrew was spotted near the East Syracuse Minoa School District offices and Woodland Elementary School several times in September. Because of his sex offender status, he is not allowed to be near school property.

Level 3 sex offenders are deemed most likely to re-offend.

Jandrew is scheduled to appear in Manlius Town Court on the loitering charge later this month.
