Syracuse teen is in the hospital after a shooting

SYRACUSE -- A Syracuse teen is in the hospital after a shooting on Tuesday night.

Police are still investigating the incident, but they think it happened at the 500 block of West Colvin Street at 6:15 pm. The victim is 17-year-old Duran Jackson. Police say he was shot in the upper left arm area, it has been determined that the bullet lodged inside his chest near his heart, but the injury was still considered non-life threatening.

Jackson was transported to Upstate University Hospital for treatment of his wounds.

Syracuse police say no evidence has been located at this time and the victim has not provided any suspect information. This case is currently under investigation.
