UTICA, ONEIDA CO. -- The next time you call 911 in Utica, a different police agency will pick up the phone.

Starting Tuesday, all 911 calls made in the City of Utica on landline or cell phone will be answered and dispatched through the Oneida County 911 Center on Judd Road.

According to Utica Sgt. Steve Hauck, this is something that has been talked about for about 15 to 16 years, but has always hit stumbling blocks along the way. He hopes this consolidation will help speed up emergency response times.

If you have a non-emergency call for Utica police, dial (315) 735-3301.
